Academics
Education
University of Calgary
September 2024 - Present
Currently pursuing a MSc in Electrical Engineering. I am working in the Quantum Technology and Engineering (QuTE) lab studying the optical properties of novel diamond defects.
Queen’s University
September 2019 - May 2024
BASc in Engineering Physics, subspecialty in Computer Engineering
Graduated with First Class Honours and received Dean’s Scholar designation each academic year.
Internship experience
Ericsson Canada
I worked on the Integration, Verification and Certification team from May 2022 to August 2023.
I conducted Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Environmental (ENV) verification testing on indoor and outdoor radio products. I was responsible for setting up, configuring, and testing the radios. This work required solid critical thinking to debug complex systems. It provided hands-on experience working with Keysight, NI, and R&S instruments, including PXi SA/SG, ENA, SMW, and FSW.
Additionally, I worked in an Agile development environment with global teams on proprietary test automation software. I was the primary developer working on the final implementation of ENV test cases at the Ottawa site and led user acceptance for ENV automation. I supported verification engineers using the automation software to perform ENV, EMC, and Radio Product Verification (RPV) testing.
Queen’s University
I worked as a Course Development Lead for the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science from May 2021 to August 2021.
I developed, tested, and implemented a new laboratory experiment for APSC 100M2 (Introduction to Experimentation) in which students analyze the motion of a spring mass system using an Arduino. I worked on creating a new open-ended engineering design project for APSC 200 (Engineering Design and Practice II), and a comprehensive, interactive Python Jupyter Notebook summarizing the content ENPH 252 (Management of Experimental Data) to facilitate the removal of the course in future years. The notebook covered topics including error estimation and propagation, along with analysis, graphing, and curve fitting of experimental data.
Projects
Engineering Physics Thesis
September 2023 - May 2024
(For ENPH 455)
Worked on Design and Implementation of an Automation System for a Satellite Ground Station for my undergraduate thesis, supervised by L. Sangalli (Royal Military College of Canada).
Small Scale Radio Telescope build
September 2023 - May 2024
(For ENPH 454)
Worked with a team designing and implementing a small-scale radio telescope to observe solar microwave radiation. The primary goal of the project is to compare the performance of a parabolic reflector and a horn antenna for observing solar emissions in high X-band frequencies. The better-performing design will be used to observe the April 2024 total solar eclipse in Kingston, Ontario.
